Coronavirus: Stop debates, politics in our buses – GPRTU to passengers

The National Secretary of Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Kwame Owusu Aduomi, has commended the Government of Ghana for closing down schools whilst encouraging the roll out of distance learning programmes.

Spreaking in an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show (HMS) aired on Happy 98.9FM, he said: “It is in the right direction. I believe the President made some consultations before speaking. We thus accept it. We will support the Government in this direction that it has taken”.

According to him, even though, the direction might affect the education sector, it is, in the long run, for our benefit. “The overall effect will be good for us”, he added.

He also made it known that, all regions have been communicated to and by midday today, “students will start coming home”.

On Sunday, 15th March,2020, President Akufo-Addo announced that a total closure of all public and private educational facilities in the country will be effective Monday, March 16 2020. This directive follows the confirmation of four new cases of the COVID-19 in the country.
