Maame Yaa Aboagye, Deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the opposition NDC for politicizing the Coronavirus crisis confronting Ghanaians and the world at large.

According to her, Ghana is in a crucial moment and needs national support to fight against the novel Coronavirus.

She wants the NDC to note that the pandemic is no respecter of persons neither does it care about NDC or NPP.

“NPP is focused on saving lives and how to curb the spread of the virus so that people can go back to their normal work . . . when all this is over, we can still go back and do our normal politics,” she said.

The country, she stated, is at war against COVID-19 and it will take the collective efforts of all parties to defeat it.

“In this crisis, all NDC is thinking about is the 2020 election. No wonder they complain about all measures put in place by the NPP government . . . it is absolutely troubling and shocking that in the face of such pandemic, they can still have time to do politics".

“The efforts Ghana has made to address this pandemic have been impressive and it’s the main headache of the opposition party, not getting anything negative to criticize the government about hence resorting to internal politics . . . if they care to know, Ghana is still in crisis and we expect them to know better,” she slammed the opposition party.

Maame Yaa Aboagye assured Ghanaians that President Akufo-Addo is fully committed to the fight against the pandemic.
