Coronavirus: Widows, single parents applaud CMG for MoMo

Some single parents who received money from the management of Class Media Group (CMG) through Mobile Money during the lockdown have thank the media group for the support.

To ease the suffering of the vulnerable during the partial lockdown imposed on residents of Accra, Kasoa, Tema and Kumasi as part of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Class Media Group (CMG), as part of her social responsibility launched the CMG MoMo Against COVID-19 charity platform to provide direct cash to single mothers and widows.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme, Linda Ansah who lives at Kasoa thanked the management for the gesture.

She is a single mother with four children.

She told Benjamin Akakpo on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class 91.3FM Thursday April 9 that : “Lockdown is not an easy option. The government should come to some of the community and identify these less privileged ones and families.

“There are poor people around so they should be considerate and come to the aid of these people

“I thank Class FM for the support, you have done well. I received your support yesterday, God bless you and thanks for the support.”

Another beneficiary, Samuel Jerry Astu, who lives at Adenta Frafraha, with three children of whom one is suffering from down syndrome said : “I have been living without my wife for over a year now and I have been taking care of my children all by myself.

“I called Class FM with the hope that I could get help and indeed I got the MoMo from Class FM . I was able to buy medicine yesterday for the last born with Down syndrome.

“This is real and we appeal that people who are really in need should apply. I want to thank Class FM, God bless you.”

Similarly, sharing their experiences on Accra 100.5FM’s Ghana Yensom hosted by Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don), Barbara Amanotey, who lives at Korle Gonno in Accra with four children said: “I do small business and this lockdown affected me and my children.

“When I heard of the CMG initiative I applied and thank God I made something. God bless CMG.”

Mercy Fosu also thanked CMG for the support and said she will use hers to engage in Soya business after the lockdown.

“I will use the money for my soya business,” she said.

The promotion which started on Monday, 6 April 2020 ends on Friday, 10 April 2020
