Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong has revealed that the deadly coronavirus could be signs of the end times, MyNewsGh.com reports.
The man of God on Joy News admitted that the world, in general, was not in ordinary times and that everyone must take cues from the current challenges that have bedeviled the country and the world as a whole as a result of COVID-19
Pushed by the host Evans Mensah to state categorically if the coronavirus is not heralding the end times he said “it could be the signs of end times”
Later in an interaction with MyNewsGh.com he noted” we are not in ordinary times. We must learn from the current challenges. Theological dimensions can follow later”
Meanwhile, the renowned theologian who believes there is nothing wrong with people activating their faith in times of challenges, also advised that there is the need to observe necessary precautions and not overly rely on prayers.
In an interview with Neat FM, he established that although God uses miracles to glorify himself, Christians will be doomed if they ignore the safety tips and act carelessly.
“Let’s all be careful out there. Christians and pastors should adopt proper care of themselves. When Ebola came, Ghana was fortunate enough not to encounter any of such. Let’s all pray against this disease but while at it, let’s not over-spiritualize it,” he stated.
