The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia has condemned the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) government’s approach in fighting corruption in the country indicating that alleged corrupt officials under the erstwhile government would not be judged through propaganda.

In his view, appointees accused in the previous administration of misconducting themselves would have to be hauled before the law courts to answer questions and not what the NPP government is trying to make Ghanaians believe

According to him, since leadership of Ghana has done nothing to do away with indiscipline among its citizens, it would not be possible to fight corruption in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based radio, Atinka FM, General Mosquito as affectionately called stressed that, NPP’s continuous accusation against some former government official clearly indicates that, they cannot fight corruption.

“As a country, if we are not able to fight lies there is no way we are going to fight corruption”. He indicated.

He f explained that, the NPP’s act of accusations against some government officials during the 2016 campaign was irresponsible hence making it difficult for them to fight it thoroughly.

Mr. Asiedu continued, “The Nana Addo led government must know that, ‘corrupt’ officials are not going to be judged by propaganda machinery of their party nor pliable media. Instead, judges are going to make their ruling based on facts and evidence”.

The General Secretary as well cautioned that, such act on the part of the NPP hinders the smooth process of justice in the country.
