An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday deferred the sentence of two persons who conspired and robbed one Charlotte Tagoe, of her hand bag containing a purse, two books, iphone and an amount of GH¢ 1,000.00.
The two Micheal Addo, a Mechanic and Emmanuel Adumuah, a Labourer who did the act on April 18, at Osu pleaded guilty to both charges.
They admitted the offence and prayed the court to have mercy on them, saying it was their first time and that they would not do that again.
The court convicted them on their own plea, but deferred sentence to April 28 for the prosecution to produce the exhibits retrieved during their arrest.
The two were remanded into police custody.
Presenting the facts of the case, Police Chief Inspector Afful said the complainant is an Accounting Assistant and resides at Osu, whiles Michael lives at Kwashieman and Emmanuel at La.
He said on April 18, at about 2040 hours whilst the complainant had closed from evening classes and was walking home. She spotted the convicts on a motor bike and when they saw her they turned towards her direction, attacked her, took away her hand bag and sped off.
Chief Inspector Afful told the court that the complainant shouted for help which attracted some people to the scene.
He said in about two and half hours, a witness in the case, who had information of the crime and the description of the motorbike managed to arrest the accused persons together with the hand bag to the police station.
The hand bag was searched and all the items were found intact except the money.
