Kwame Kpamoh, 23, a farmer, has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment in hard labour by a Tarkwa Circuit Court for defiling two sisters.
He was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant, Ruth Dari, is the mother of the victims who are both nine years-old and live at Kwame Niampah in the same vicinity with the convict.
She said because Kpamoh was the complainant’s brother-in-law he visits his home regularly and often give candies and money to the victims.
Inspector Tawiah said as time went on, the convict was sending the victims out to buy them toffees and took advantage of that and defiled them in an uncompleted building which is 200 meters away from their house.
The Prosecutor said the convict repeated the act on several occasions and told the victims not to tell anyone about the incident else they will die.
According to Inspector Tawiah, the matter became rumours in the community.
She said on October 2, convict paid his usual visit to the complainant and while leaving he asked one of the victims to accompany him to buy nestle coffee for the complainant.
Inspector Tawiah said on reaching the uncompleted building, he dragged her in, but the complainant who was following closely accosted the convict and raised the alarm and one Akos and the Unit Committee Chairman came to the scene.
The Prosecutor said, a report was made to the police and the convict was arrested and charged with the offense.
