The Juaso Circuit Court, presided over by Fredrick Tetteh, has remanded a man accused of defiling a four-year girl in prison custody.

Samuel Kwaku Boateng pleaded not guilty to the offence and would make his next appearance on October 1.

Police Detective Sergeant Princeton Peasah Darkwah told the Court that the incident happened at Juaso, in the Asante-Akim South District capital, on August 9, at about 1600 hours.

The little girl together with four other children were waiting after the close of school for extra-tuition by a part-time teacher engaged by their parents, when the accused took advantage of her.

He allegedly playfully held the innocent girl’s hand, led her to the school’s toilet and sexually abused her.

Boateng was said to have first inserted his penis into her mouth after which he defiled her.

The prosecution said a witness in the case, who was passing by the school, heard the shrill cry of the girl and decided to find out what was happening.

As the witness neared the school’s entrance, he saw the accused emerged from the toilet and before he could ask him any question, he took to his heels.

The victim was later taken to the parents and they tracked Boateng down to his hideout, arrested and handed him over to the police.

Detective Sergeant Darkwah said a signed report by doctors, who treated the girl, confirmed that she had indeed been defiled.
