Courts hearing parliamentary petitions to sit on holidays, Saturdays; registries must work from 8am to 8pm - CJ

Ghana’s Chief Justice has directed that court registries shall operate between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm on Saturdays and public holidays.

Also, all Superior Court judges who shall be assigned any parliamentary dispute or related matter shall have the power to sit on Saturdays and public holidays as in the discretion of the judge may be necessary for the expeditious disposal of the case.

The Directive contained in a statement also said the Chief Justice has also directed the application of electronic service pursuant to Order 7 of C.I 47, High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2004, as amended by Order 3A of C.I 122, High Court (Civil Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.

There are nine results under contention, but recollation is currently ongoing at the old office of the Electoral Commission at Ridge in Accra.
