Create jobs for the youth – President charges Assembly members

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has charged the newly elected Assembly members across the country to mobilize enough revenue to support the central government to help create employment for the teaming youth.

“One major function of the Assembly is to explore avenues for the creation of jobs for the people, particularly the youth”, Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie delivered the President’s address on the third inauguration ceremony of the Sekyere Afram Plains Assembly in the Ashanti Region covered by MyNewsGh.com recently.

The President therefore asked district assemblies to focus and work on the national digital addressing and property registration system to aid spatial planning and revenue mobilization.

“Same way with businesses; when it is time to collect our business operating permits, all of these are well captured so that we can go in and collect our business operating permits,” according to the President.

He asked Assembly members to be selfless people and think about how best THEY can transform the Assembly and to transform the country.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Hon. Joseph Owusu also admonished the all the fifteen Assembly members; ten elected and five appointed to eschew politicization of issues to ensure development they take development to the people represented in their various electoral areas.

In a related development, the Assembly man for Seneso-Asuogya electoral area, Hon. Daniel Kwame Njona was elected as Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly and sworn into office by the District Magistrate Court, His Lordship George Ofori to preside on General Assembly meetings for a four-year term.
