Cut ties with Owusu-Bempah - NDC youth group to Mahama

A pro-NDC group, NDC Ashanti Youth for Mahama, has urged the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, to sever ties with the Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah.

In a statement issued by the group on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the group expressed disappointment that Owusu-Bempah, who has previously spoken against Mahama, was welcomed to play a significant role at the recent gathering of clergymen on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

"We express our disappointment at the fact that Apostle Owusu-Bempah, upon all that he did against John Mahama would be entertained to the point of playing such a big role at the gathering," the statement said.

The group also questioned why Owusu-Bempah would offer prayers for Mahama when Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa-Yiadom had offered similar prayers.

“Indeed, his presence at the event was even needless as Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa-Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, had already offered prayers for our Flagbearer. Our point is simple. We didn’t need Apostle Owusu-Bempah since Opambour had already done what he did for our Flagbearer at the gathering," the statement stated.

The group further urged the NDC party leadership to disassociate themselves from Owusu-Bempah as he does not genuinely support their cause.

“Cut all ties with Apostle Owusu-Bempah since he is not genuinely for us,” portions of the statement indicated.

Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah’s sudden turn has raised eyebrows following his long-standing history of criticising Mahama and supposedly supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
