Some aggrieved aspirants in the just ended District Assembly Elections have threatened to sue the Electoral Commission.

According to some of the aggrieved aspirants, poor publicity and administrative lapses in the local assembly threatened to mar the process hence their decision to sue the EC.

Meanwhile, the elections have ended across the country in an electoral process characterized by huge apathy and administrative lapses.

While most polling stations recorded poor turnouts, others had issues with their Biometric Verification Machines.

Most polling stations were virtually empty rendering many electoral officers idle for most parts of the day.

In parts of Accra, the exercise was delayed due to either the unavailability of materials or lack of adequate personnel coordinating the process at various electoral areas.

But the Electoral Commission has stated it will soon announce measures to remedy the administrative challenges that nearly marred the exercise in Accra especially.

Christian Owusu Parry, Public Affairs Director for the Commission in an interview with Starr News said the EC is highly impressed with the conduct of the elections.

"Generally the exercise went on smoothly at the majority of the polling stations but there were, however, a few challenges in some parts of the country…but generally it has ended smoothly".
