The Graphic reports in a front page story that a 45-year-old woman who could bear the sight of her husband being murdered by a lunatic and allegedly retaliated, has been placed in police custody at Wa. The suspect, Adwoa Kantin, a native of Dufiama in the Nadowli District of the Upper West Region, is to be prosecuted as soon as the police complete their investigations. The paper quoting the police said the suspect allegedly hit the lunatic, Dorsaa Bagine, with a pestle, killing him. The police said Bagine on October 23, attacked a 12-year-old boy with a pestle while the boy was feeding a dog at Dufiama. The police, said the young boy's screams for help attracted his uncle, Mr Kantin Bagine, who went to rescue his nephew. After the boy had narrated the circumstances leading to the assault by the lunatic, Mr Bagine, accompanied by his wife, Adwoa Kantin decided to accost the lunatic who had then escaped. While they were looking for the lunatic, he emerged from behind a tree under the cover of darkness, and hit Mr Bagine on the head with the pestle. killing him instantly, the Graphic reported the po9lice as saying. In a centre spread story Headlined: "German arrested for pornography", the Graphic reports that a 57-year-old German, Tuesing Klaus, wanted by the police for allegedly being a member of a group believed to have been taking nude pictures of young women for sale outside Ghana, has been arrested. Klaus, the Graphic says, was arrested last Tuesday by the Cantonments Police in Accra. He is alleged to have teamed up with one Augustina Konadu, a 45-year-old clerk at the Ministry of Defence to take nude pictures of young women for sale abroad. The Graphic says a police source said when Klaus was interrogated, he denied dealing in nude pictures. He, however, said Augustina, who is his next-door neighbour, only brought an undeveloped film to him once to be developed and printed for her. Meanwhile, Augustina, her two children and a housewife have been arrested for allegedly dealing in nude pictures of young women. GRI
