The Graphic in a front page story reports that a Sunyani housewife, Rosemary Frimpong Quartey who allegedly clubbed her five-year-old step-son to death wwith a carpenter's hammer, was yesterday remanded in prison custody for two weeks by a Sunyani Circuit Court. The paper says Mrs Quartey whose plea was not taken, will re-appear on November 24. This is to allow the police enough time to complete their injvestigations for proceedings to start. The Graphic says news of Mrs Quartey' appearance in court drew a large crowd to both the Sunyani Police Station and the precincts of the court. Rosemary allegedly committed the offence in the morning of last Thursday, November 6, while her husband Police Constable Kwamina Quartey, who is the father of the deceased, was away from home. The Graphic says on the day of the incident, the deceased was heard by neighbours pleading for mercy as her step-mother pounded him in her room with a hammer. GRi
