Mr Mike Ofori-Darko, Ayensuano District Chief Executive, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to support the district police station with a vehicle and staff accommodation.
He said because the station had no accommodation, police officers had to commute from Nsawam, Suhum and Koforidua daily to work.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Coaltar, Mr Ofori-Darko said the whole district had only one police station which served the 385 communities there.
He said during difficult times, the assembly was forced to withdraw one of its vehicles to support the police which made it very difficult for the assembly.
He said the district would need additional police stations at Asuboi, Anum Apapam and Ayekokuoso communities to strengthen security.
