DCE calls on Paramount chiefs

Anomabo(C/R), Nov. 6, GNA - The District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur has assured Ghanaians that the government will do everything possible within the constraint of the economy to improve their standard of living.

Mr. Quainoo-Arthur however, appealed to them to exercise restrain as it would take time for the government to address the problems one after the other.

He gave the assurance when he paid courtesy calls on four of the five paramount chiefs in the district at Yamoransa, Anomabo, Abeadze ,Dominase and Essuehyia.

The DCE, who was accompanied by the Presiding member, Mr. Frank Neequaye, could not visit Mankessim because of the protracted chieftaincy dispute involving two factions.

He congratulated the four paramount chiefs for maintaining peace in their areas and appealed to them to use their experiences to help resolve the dispute at Mankessim.

Mr. Quainoo-Arthur assured the chiefs of open and transparent administration and urged them to feel free to approach him with their problems and also to alert him when he was going off track. The DCE appealed to the traditional rulers to help the assembly to create a land bank to facilitate implementation of the President's Special Initiatives (PSI) in the district.

He explained the National Health Insurance scheme to the chiefs and urged them to get their people to patronise it.

The chiefs expressed gratitude to President J.A. Kufuor for nominating Mr. Quainoo-Arthur for the post of DCE and assured him of their co-operation.

Rehabilitation of roads was the major request made by the chiefs.
