A group of Ghanaians in the UK and Northern Ireland have petitioned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over what they describe as exorbitant prices of Ghanaian passports.
The group, Diasporans For Justice (DFJ) says the price they pay to acquire a Ghanaian passport is the most expensive in the world.
According to them, they pay £180, £190 and £250 for standard renewal, damaged and lost passports respectively whiles Ghanaians in countries like Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa and other countries are charged between £30 and £85.
They are calling on the Ministry to review the cost of the passport.
The group, in a statement, however, commended the ministry for extending the validity period of the Ghanaian passport from 5years to 10years.
