General Secretary of the governing NDC is accusing the opposition New Patriotic Party of orchestrating the country’s biggest micro-finance scam which led thousands to lose millions of cedis in a ponzi scheme.
Johnson Asiedu Nketsia, aka General Mosquito was reacting to claims by the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahene that the NPP will pay persons who fell victims to the scheme operated by DKM Financial Service Limited, God is Love and other organizations.
“This tells you that they orchestrated the scheme so they know where the money is that’s why they are promising to refund it. We shouldn’t allow them to get away with that act of scheme that is why we are exposing them,” he alleged.
He further claimed on 3FM Sunrise morning show that the leadership of the micro finance scheme who are being pursued for the refund are being projected as candidates by the NPP for the December elections. “The regional manager of God is Love, in Kintampo South constituency is the second largest company that has duped customers, and Nana addo is promising to refund the money.
“So if you have somebody who people consider to have extorted their money and you install that person as a chief then who are you? If you make their manger a candidate then who are you? All the evidence seems to be pointing to the fact that the DKM scheme is engineered by the NPP.”
According to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NPP’s claim that the refund will not come from the state coffers lends credence to the fact that the NPP is complicit in the scam.
“If it’s not coming from the state coffers then where is it coming from”, he wondered as the Bank of Ghana is already liquidating assets of the companies to pay off the customers. “I’m sure if you are promising to repay then you are not looking at the liquidation process. And don’t tell me that Nana Addo is going to sell out his properties to pay the customers”, he remarked.
