The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will commence an electronic vehicle registration and documentation system from October 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018.

According to a release from the authority, the exercise will commence with customized number plates to re-certify their registration and enroll them into the new system. The re-certification is geared towards providing better service delivery to customers and to also do away with fake customized registration numbers in the country.

The release stated “we are therefore requesting vehicle owners with customized registration numbers to present their registration documents to the prestige service centre at the DVLA head office in Accra”.

The statement signed by the Public Relations Manager of the DVLA, Francis Asamoah Tuffour, added “owners whose records are found to be authentic would be issued with a new Certificate of Title for Motor Vehicle and a Vehicle Registration Smart Card”.

The DVLA under its current leadership has witnessed productive innovations which are inuring to the interests of the authority and the country at large.

The express service and the swiftness with which the authority now manages its affairs have largely changed its previous corruption image.

The innovations have rendered the middlemen or ‘Goro Boys’ almost useless as customers are able to access DVLA services almost effortless.

DAILY GUIDE has learnt that soon DVLA mobile vans can be dispatched to organizations which seek the assortment of services of the authority. This initiative has been described as ‘DVLA at your doorstep’.
