Accra, Feb. 4, GNA - Daasebre Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng, Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, has called on Ghanaians to allow truth guide them in all their endeavours.
He pointed out that it was only the truth that could set an individual free to achieve set goals.
Daasebre Oti Boateng, who is also President of Eastern Regional Hous= e of Chiefs made the call at the annual get-together of Greater Accra Regional branch of Konongo/Odumasi Senior High School Old Students Association, (Anuanom) in Accra. As an alumnus in the second batch of students in 1954, he urged Anua= nom to build their lives on truth to guarantee a future of hope. Daasebre Oti Boateng was happy about the tremendous infrastructural development at the school and the high academic performance of the studen= ts, an improvement over the past 50 years.
Alhaji Razak El-Alawa, President of the association reminded members= to show appreciation to their alma mater and contribute to its development f= or efficient and effective teaching and learning. He urged Anuanom to attend meetings regularly and pay their dues promptly. Mr. Adu Brempong Poku, Headmaster of the school, who is also an alumnus, said last year's WASSCE results were very impressive.
He said out of the 541 candidates, only one student failed represent= ing 98.7 pre cent, and explained that the4 student could not fully participat= e in the examination due to ill-health and two absentees. Mr. Poku said 335 students out of 541 passed in all the eight subjec= ts representing 61.92 per cent while 503 out of 541 passed in six or more subjects, representing 92.97 per cent. Mr. Justice Anin Yeboah, a Supreme Court Judge, advised members to contribute positively to the school's development.
