Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a former Deputy Minister of Information, under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the John Dramani Mahama administration, has accused Attorney General Godfred Dame of carelessness that has caused financial loss to the state.
He added that because of this, the AG needs to be jailed.
According to the former minister, medical equipment to be fixed in ambulances were neglected at the port for eight years.
He said, "Godfred Dame and his government refused to clear medical equipment to be fixed in the ambulances and allowed the items to rot at the port for 8 years. It is Dame who ought to go to jail for actually causing financial loss to the state."
He made this statement in a post shared on Twitter, formerly known as X, on July 30, 2024.
Felix also said that from the inception of the trial regarding the purchasing of ambulances, Big Sea, the manufacturers of the vehicles, were ready to make a refund of the amount paid for the ambulances to be returned.
The Attorney General, he said, however, declined the offer due to his intention of imprisoning an innocent man.
"At the beginning of the trial, Big Sea, the manufacturers of the Ambulances, offered to refund the amount paid to them so the ambulances could be returned to them. Dame refused because of a callous desire to imprison an innocent man," he added.
