Damongo: Independent candidate distributes 4000 surgical masks and sanitizers

An Aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region, Mr David Tiki Dange has on Tuesday 17th March, 2020 embarked on free distribution of over 4,000 surgical masks as well as Sanitizers to Damongo constituents to protect themselves against the dreaded Corona Virus.

The Independent Parliamentary Candidate on reaching Damongo township first paid a courtesy call on the King and Overlord of the Gonja Traditional Area Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa (I) and presented some of the equipments to him and his sub- Chiefs.

Mr Tiki speaking at the Jakpa Palace at Damomgo said the Corona Virus is real and since he aspires to represent his people in Parliament he needs to rush to contribute his quota towards preventing the Corona Virus by distributing the items free of charge.

On his ambition to be an MP he said both New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have disappointed the people of Damongo.used the opportunity to seek for Yagbonwura’s blessings to become the MP for the Damongo Constituency.

Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa thank Mr Tiki for attending to the health needs of his people since it is very difficult to get the items in the open market.

The Yagbonwura speaking through his linguist Alhaji Afuli Losina used the opportunity to appeal to the people in the region to adhere to the calls on how to stay safe in other not to contract the deadly Corona Virus.

The Overlord of Gonja thanked Mr Tiki for distributing the items in the whole Constituency.

Mr. Tiki Dange later took to the principal streets of Damongo to distribute the masks and the hand sanitizers and later moved to the Damongo lorry station and into the market for distribution of the items.

Earlier Mr Tiki started his donation at Kojokura, a community that starts the Damongo Constituency from Fufulso and proceeded through to all the communities and ended in the Savannah Regional Capital of Damongo.

At Busunu Mr Tiki donated 200 pieces of face masks, surgical disposals and some sanitizers to the Busunu Health Post shortly after meeting and distributing face masks, hand sanitizers and gloves to the Chiefs and residents of the community at the Palace of the Chief of Busunu.
He also presented a football trophy to Busunuwura to honour a football gala competition in the name of the Busunuwura.

The Independent candidate also presented a set of Jersey, 4 footballs and assorted drinks to the youth Busunu.

He explained to the residents who were at the Busunu Health Post to adhere to the calls of using the face mask and the hand sanitizers to help protect them against the deadly Corona Virus.

Principal Medical Assistant at the Busunu health Post, Mr. Ganew Kantama, who received the items on behalf of the people of Busunu, expressed gratitude to the aspiring MP Mr Tiki Dange for his tremendous contribution to the center considering the outbreak of the Convid-19 pandemic in the country and pledged that the face masks and sanitizers will be used for their intended purposes.

The Aspiring MP said he is set to make a donation of over 1,000 face masks and some quantities of the hand sanitizers to the Damongo Hospital and the Damongo town clinic later today and further continue his distribution to some other parts of the constituency.
