The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Damongo Constituency has rejected the provisional results projecting the MP for the area, Abu Jinapor, as retaining the seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NDC contends that over-voting occurred at three polling stations.

The polling stations where the alleged over-voting occurred are Kabampe, Almanara Polling Station, and the Laribanga Ancient Mosque Polling Station A.

However, the NPP in the constituency maintains that the alleged over-voting, even if true, would be insignificant.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Damongo was vandalised yesterday during collation by unknown thugs, disrupting the process.

It was vandalised again today, Sunday, December 8, and tension remains high at the collation centre, with supporters of both parliamentary candidates invading the EC premises uninvited.

Security personnel have been deployed to the scene to contain the situation.
