Dampare commends officers for professionalism during AU summit

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, along with the Police Management Board (POMAB), has commended all police officers involved in the security operations during the recent African Union (AU) Summit held in Accra over the weekend.

In a statement released after the event, Dr. Dampare praised the professionalism exhibited by the officers during the 45th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 6th meeting of the 2024 Africa Union Commission (AUC), which took place from July 17th to July 21st, 2024.

“Our sincere appreciation goes out to each and every officer who played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all participants and property throughout the summit. Your commitment to duty and your patriotism were evident in every aspect of your service,” part of the letter read.

The IGP also acknowledged the cooperation of the general public, including motorists and road users, for their patience and understanding during the heightened security measures.

“We recognize and thank the commuting public and all other road users for their patience and cooperation,” the letter added.
