Dan Lartey Brought Colour To Ghana Politics Rawlings

Former President Rawlings today described departed politician, Dan Lartey as a man who brought a lot of colour into Ghanaian politics.

According to the former President, Dan Lartey helped to de-stress the country with his brand of politics and his absence will create a vacuum, which will be difficult to fill.

The former President made these comments when he paid a visit to the family of Dan Lartey at Kaneshie to commiserate with them on his death. He noted that he had occasion to hold serious political discussions with Mr. Lartey and was always impressed with the input he had to make.

³Dan Lartey was experienced and had seen it all, right from Nkrumah and therefore had a lot to share. When I heard he was unwell I was convinced he would bounce back because he always looked young and strong for his age. But once God has decided we cannot begrudge him.²

Accompanied by his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and Minister of State and Member of Parliament for Kpone Katamanso, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, the former President consoled Dan Lartey¹s family and said he will be ready to bid final farewell to the fallen politician once funeral arrangements were concluded.

The spokesman for the family S. F. Acquah expressed gratitude to the former First Couple for finding time to console the family.

Former President Rawlings and Nana Konadu later signed a book of condolence opened in memory of Dan Lartey.
