Some relatives of the murdered MP for Abuakwa North are threatening to demonstrate at the Police headquarters today.

The family is in Accra to hold the one week memorial celebration of the death of J.B. Danquah-Adu but plan on the protest to register their displeasure at the discrepancies in the reports given them by the police after interrogating the prime suspect in the murder.

Whiles the initial report suggested that the suspect was contracted to kill the late MP, he has subsequently told the court that he killed J.B Danquah during a robbery operation.

A nephew of the late MP Solomon Nuwodo told Starr News they are dialoging with the aggrieved family members to halt the planned protest.

“The family members are not happy with the conflicting reports. We were told earlier that he was contracted to do what he did and now we are being told he went there to steal. We don’t seem to understand what is happening and that is why some of the family members have decided to demonstrate at the Police headquarters but some of us hope to be able to talk them out of the decision,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the teenager standing trial for the murder Daniel Asiedu has been remanded into police custody. The case will return to court on March 1.
