Deadline for handing over notes out on Friday

Minister of Information, Fritz Baffour has announced that Ministers of State and all government appointees, will be informed of the deadline for the submission of their handing over notes on Friday.

Speaking on Citi FM's new analysis programme Eyewitness News, Mr. Baffour noted that “basically we are just giving them notice for them to start doing their work. All the ministers who are presently employed lose their portfolio when the President is sworn in. We have all come to the end of our tenure and so therefore we have to prepare handing over notes; so that is the main reason for this.”

According to the Minister of Information clarified that the exercise applied to all government appointees and not not only persons with ministerial appointments.

"This is something that we should all be used to, but we are giving all the government appointees the time to organize themselves according to the new Transition Bill that has been passed.”

Vice President and Chairman of the Transition Team, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, on Wednesday directed all Ministers of State to begin preparing their handing over notes in compliance with the provisions of the Presidential (Transitions) Act of 2013, Act 845.
