The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has called on Ghanaians to make a critical choice in the upcoming December 7 elections, emphasizing that the country must "reset or sink further."

Addressing members of professional groups, including the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG), and legal professionals during her two-day campaign tour of the Bono Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged all citizens to rally behind the call for change.

“We have the option to reset this country. It’s not going to be easy—it’s not a joke or child’s play. But we either reset or we sink further. The choice is ours,” she declared.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government's performance since taking office in 2017, citing a deteriorating economy, environmental degradation, and poor governance as key issues.

She highlighted that polluted water bodies, poisoned lands, and a broken economy have become the hallmarks of the current administration.

She also urged members of academia, including students, to play an active role in shaping the country's future. “Campuses should be spaces where students and academic staff are honest about what they believe in and use logic to support their views—not just vote based on where they come from,” she said, expressing disappointment at the lack of critical thinking in political choices.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang concluded by stressing that Ghanaians deserve a government that prioritizes their welfare, adding that the NDC, under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, is prepared to lead the country toward prosperity for all.
