Supporters of both the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been told not to set unrealistic expectations for themselves ahead of the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Peace Ambassador and Security Expert, Irbard Ibrahim, has said given that it is just one political party that will emerge victorious in the elections, there was the need for supporters of both parties to be prepared for defeats in as much as they want their party to win.

Ghana has less than about 41 days to the elections on December 7. The two main parties have been engaged in several election related activities in preparations for the polls.

The flag bearers of the NDC and NPP, John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who are at the forefront of the polls are campaigning vigorously to win the mandate of the electorates.

In relation to the election, Mr Irbard said: “It is sad that both President Mahama and Nana Addo cannot be winners at the same time.”

He told an audience of politicians and university students in Accra when he headlined a peace and entrepreneurship seminar at the University of Professional Studies (UPS) chaired by former GFA Boss M.N.D Jawula,“ In 41 days, the hearts of some people will break. Party followers should leave a small room in their minds for disappointment for the sake of Ghana's stability.”
