December Polls: Asiedu Nketiah declares Mahama as 'saviour' of Ashanti Region during campaign climax

The National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has likened himself to "John the Baptist," declaring that he has "swept the road" in the Ashanti Region to pave the way for John Mahama, the "Saviour" to claim significant votes in the upcoming elections.

He made this declaration at Ahenbronum in the Old Tafo Constituency during the climax of the NDC's Ashanti Regional Phase III retail campaign.

Over the course of his regional campaign, Chairman Asiedu Nketiah visited all 47 constituencies in Ashanti, meeting with chiefs, traders, drivers, artisans, and community members.

His mission was to rally support for John Mahama and the NDC's Parliamentary Candidates, emphasizing the party's vision for Ghana's development.

NDC's Policy Highlights

Addressing the people, Asiedu Nketiah explained key aspects of the NDC's manifesto, including:

Free SHS Reform: Transforming the policy to eliminate the double-track system and granting headmasters autonomy in managing the feeding programme. Project Continuation: Resuming stalled projects, excluding the National Cathedral. Infrastructure Development: Prioritizing road construction, electricity extensions, and improved telecommunications networks. Campaign Activities

Chairman Asiedu Nketiah urged Ashanti Region voters to reassess their long-standing allegiance to the NPP, pointing out the lack of significant development under their eight-year rule.

He encouraged voters to examine their roads, water access, sanitation, and the cost of living, emphasizing that John Mahama and the NDC are better equipped to address their challenges.

Local chiefs commended the NDC for past projects and expressed hopes for development under a Mahama-led government.

Parliamentary Candidates also outlined their visions, presenting plans to improve their constituencies.

With enthusiastic receptions across the region, Chairman Asiedu Nketiah expressed confidence in a decisive victory for John Mahama and the NDC in both the Presidential and Parliamentary races.
