Delegation informs Kufuor of Chinebuah's funeral

Accra, June 28, GNA - A delegation from the family of the late Dr Isaac Chinebuah, an educationist and politician, on Wednesday called on President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu, to officially inform him of his death and the arrangements for the funeral.

Dr Chinebuah, who died on June 8 at the age of 78, was a Former Headmaster of Achimota College and Lecturer at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon.

He also served as Minister of Education and Information during the First Republic and as Foreign Minister under the Dr Hilla Liman's Administration in the Third Republic.

He would be buried on August 11 in Accra.

Mr John Amenlemah, one time Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) Western Regional Secretary, led the delegation, which included the widow, Jane and some of his children. President Kufuor said the late Dr Chinebuah used his God-given talents to serve the nation well in the fields of education and politics.

The Government, through State Protocol, would therefore work closely with the bereaved family to ensure that he was given a fitting burial. The late Dr Chinebuah until his death was the Secretary and Administrator of the Teberebie Mines. He left behind a wife and eight children.
