Delle files papers to contest CPP Chairmanship

Accra July 6, GNA - Professor Edmund Delle, Director of Rabito Health Services, on Wednesday filed his nomination papers to contest for the chairmanship of the Convention People's Party (CPP).

According to him, the party needed to be in a good position to contest the next election, and that with him as the chairman for the second time he would help to strengthen and unite the party for victory.

Professor Delle announced this at a brief interaction with the press at the CPP headquarters.

He said the fortunes of CPP had declined with fears that if much was not done it would again lose the next election.

Prof. Delle said as an experienced man in the party, he would overhaul and overcome the crisis that the party was facing.

"When an organization or a party is in crisis it takes an astute and experienced politician to bring back the fortunes lost," he noted.

Prof Delle stressed that the party needed to bring back its unity and revamp its rules to give way to more people to contest for more parliamentary seats.

He said the problem of the party was unity without which there would be no victory.

Prof. Delle added that the party needed to involve the youth because of their enthusiasm to work academically and politically to achieve victory.

He observed that the blending of the young and old members, as well as the mobilization of women, would help build a better CPP to challenge its opponents.
