The political bastardization and attempts to maliciously demonize the present government and the President of the nation, Nana Akufo-Addo by opposition political party members on the controversial mandatory towing levy is out of place.
According to him, government's intents are purely developmental and in the interest of the country.
“Everything points to the fact that this government has had nothing to do with this towing levy”, Technical and Economic Advisor at the office of the Vice President, Dr. Gideon Boako stated.
“In fact when the thing started, this government sat down upon listening to the hues and cries and the agitations through the Executives, the Minister [Road and Highways] requested that it must be put on hold for further and deeper consultation”, he revealed.
“We get up one day and hear that Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport has come to a conclusion that they support the towing levy. …the next day it was all over in the news and people are forcing this down the throat of the government making it more or less an albatross that this government is insensitive”.
“I should like to state that the government of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the NPP has nothing to do with this”, Dr. Gideon Boako announced on Joy FM’s weekly news analysis show Newsfile.
“The government that prides itself as a government for the individual and therefore going to shift the management of economy from taxation to production why is this government seeking to impose towing levy that people see as a monster “, he asked.
“This government has not consented to any decision in respect to this mandatory levy”, the Technical Economic Policy Advisor stated.
