Mr. Richard Kumadoe, the founder of Independent Election Security and Compliance Watchers is urging that demonstrations in the country should not be a clash between the citizens and the police.

While speaking in an interview with Nana Yaa Brefo on Onua FM, Richard Kumadoe said that there is chaos in demonstrations among the citizens because of the absence of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare.

“It won’t be news if another demonstration is staged by citizens. What I am shocked about is that ever since the Inspector General of Police, Dampare had a Deputy IGP assigned in charge of operations, we hardly see him in the public space”.

“Knowing who Dampare is, if he was in the public space, he will make sure these demonstrations won’t affect the peace we have.” He claimed

According to him, the new Global peace report among countries worldwide has shown that Ghana has dropped drastically. He advised that Ghanaians should maintain the peace in the country.

Richard Kumadoe added that he believes Ghana has dropped in the newly released Global peace report due to the fight on galamsey and the numerous demonstrations staged in the country and how the police have misbehaved towards these demonstrations.

“Demonstrations shouldn’t be we (Ghanaians) against them (police)”. He urged.
