The national chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Portuphy, has sent a strong warning to party members, verbally attacking and making derogatory utterances against each other after the party’s shocking defeat in the 2016 elections.

According to the party chairman, such actions are against the norms of the party.

“Those of you who are going to radio stations or are been lured by the stations to make statements that are not in keeping with the norms of our party should desist from doing it,” he said.

Mr. Portuphy, addressing the press at the party’s Headquarters in Accra, Thursday said as a disciplined party, members are not allowed to go contrary to the regulations of the party.

He said if any member has a problem with other members, they should seek redress from the party by going through the systems of the party rather than openly confronting one another.

“Let us meet at our constituencies, regions and national branches and resolve our problems. The leadership of the party abhors individuals going to stations and making all kinds of remarks. I want to warn that nobody must go to radio stations and attack each other,” he cautioned.
