Nana Osei Kofi, Chief of Sabin Akrofrom, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, has cautioned bodybuilders to not allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause violence in the forthcoming general elections The Chief gave the admonition during a peace and security workshop, organised by Amaasghana, for body builders in the Ashanti Region.

He said that for some time now politicians have taken the rights and lives of bodybuilders for granted, using them to perpetrate mayhem during elections, especially for the snatching of ballot boxes, and cautioned that it is time for them to change and refrain from the negative image.

Nana Osei Kofi also cautioned the public, especially identifiable groups, and charged the Christian Council of Churches, Muslim community and traditional authorities to promote peace and unity among their people, before, during and after the polls.

Mr. Kofi Asamoah Ababio, President of Amassghana, also stated that it was incumbent on every peace-loving citizen to ensure that there is peace, before, during and after this year’s elections.

He noted that bodybuilders play a significant role when it comes to violence-free elections, and urged them to get involved in the campaign against election violence.
