Mr. James Komla Dogbe, Hohoe District Chief Executive has appealed to chiefs in the district to help educate the people to desist from unanimous letter writing, which is affecting the development of the district.
He made the appeal at a durbar of chiefs and people of Gbi Traditional area to welcome Professor Justice Kodzo Paaku-Kludze, a newly appointed Justice of the Supreme Court.
Mr Dogbe said the rampant unanimous letter-writing syndrome was damaging the image of the district, which boasts of numerous tourist attractions.
He said the Assembly would not hesitate to discipline anyone caught in the act and therefore, called on those engaged in such a habit to refrain from it and help to enhance the rapid development of the area.
Mamaga Dewotornyo, Queen Mother of the Gbi Traditional Council called on the people to forgive and forget the past and rally behind the Assembly for an accelerated growth.
She advised those engaged in this negative act to rather channel their grievances to the traditional Council for redress.
Mamaga Dewotornyo commended the government for the appointment of another citizen of the area to the Supreme Court besides Mr Justice Francis K. Kpegah and pledged the support of the chiefs and people to the government.
Professor Justice Paaku-Kludze thanked the people for their prayers, which enabled him to achieve the feat and pleaded with his detractors to forget the past and "think of how best to contribute to the development of the area".
