At the 2024 Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana’s Annual General Meeting and Summit which happened from May 2–4 at Rock City Hotel, Ghanaian blogger and digital marketer Edward Asare, was inducted as an Associate of the Institute, among other professionals. This achievement holds special meaning for Mr. Asare, whose journey to the world of PR is evidence to his dedication and a willingness to learn new skills.
Mr. Asare's story began not in the boardrooms of PR firms. Fresh out of school with a degree in Economics and Information Studies, he had no prior experience in digital marketing. Yet, driven by his passion for the internet, he took a leap of faith, landing a role as a social media manager at TV3, an internship which marked the beginning of a successful career shift.
He went on to work with various organizations like Peduase Valley Resort, Genesis Tech, YEN.com.gh, Step Up Business School, Ankobra Beach Resort, and now UBA Ghana Limited, honing his digital marketing expertise. His dedication was further recognized with awards like the Ghana Youth Excellence Awards' Digital Influencer of the Year (2020), the National Communication Awards' Digital Marketing Professional of the Year (2021) and Humanitarian Awards Global (2022).
Mr. Asare's story has resonated with many of his followers, particularly those considering a career shift. His journey has become an inspiration for aspiring communicators and young professionals.
