The much-anticipated Dine with the Aged and Medical Outreach, organized by Firm Health Ghana Foundation in partnership with Ghana National Gas Company, commenced today, December 24, 2024, at the forecourt of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.

This impactful initiative aims to provide the elderly in surrounding communities with essential medical care and an opportunity to share a meal in a warm atmosphere.

The program began with a community entry exercise on Monday evening, where organizers engaged the local communities, creating awareness about the event and its objectives.

The outreach seeks to improve access to healthcare for the aged and foster a sense of belonging among elderly citizens, many of whom often face challenges in accessing basic health services.

The medical aspect of the event includes free consultations, health screenings, and distribution of essential medications, ensuring that the elderly benefit from comprehensive healthcare.

Following this, the dining segment brings together participants to enjoy a festive meal, reinforcing the spirit of unity and care.

Speaking about the motive behind the program, the Executive Director of Firm Health Ghana Foundation, Dr. Sylvester Akpah, explained that the initiative aligns with the Foundation's mission to prioritize the well-being of vulnerable groups, particularly the elderly.

He emphasized that "older citizens are the custodians of wisdom and tradition, and events like these ensure they receive the respect and care they deserve."

According to him, the event underscores the importance of investing in the health and happiness of communities that host their operations.

The Dine with the Aged and Medical Outreach has drawn enthusiastic participation, with the elderly from neighbouring towns and villages expressing gratitude for the gesture.

The event, sponsored by Ghana National Gas Company, also received support from several partners, including Smart Innovations Ghana Limited, Nephro Ghana, Tarkwa Community Hospital, Cheaper Lines Cold Store, and Donsey Kitchen and Grill, among others.
