Koforidua, Sept 11, GNA - Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Ernestina Opare-Ayeh, the National President of the Ghana Fire Service Ladies Association (FISLA) has appealed to personnel of the service to be disciplined in all their endeavours.
She said that was the only way to promote the service and to uplift its image towards achieving its objectives.
ACFO Opare-Ayeh was speaking at the inauguration of the Eastern Regional branch of the FISLA at Koforidua on Friday.
She said promotion in the service was based on examinations and stressed the need for the ladies to do refresher courses in their various fields to ensure that they passed for promotion to enhance their output in the service.
The Eastern Regional Fire Officer, ACFO Solomon Mensah, said attaining the objective of the association required hard work and much learning.
He urged them to keep abreast with present scientific fire safety technology and pledged management's support for the association to ensure that the purpose of the association was not thwarted. The Regional President of FISLA, District Officer One (DOI) Irene Mantey, said the association aimed at ensuring that members worked diligently to uplift the image of the Service.
