Disquiet At TOR, Over New Appointments

Well-informed sources at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) indicates that there is disquiet at the refinery, over the new appointments made by the Board of Directors in the top management of the company recently.

A few weeks ago, the Board retired Mr. R. B. Forson, the Managing Director, and replaced him with Dr. D.K. Sarpong, Deputy Managing Director (Finance), as the acting Chief Executive Officer.

Sources say a section of the workers are surprised that after President Kufuor had praised Mr. Forson for his competence and dynamism and extended his tenure of office for another year, the Board should retire him.

It was learnt that one of the Directors of the Board, Mr. Francis Tuyee, had never agreed with Forson, because of the latter’s deep knowledge of the plants of the refinery.
