Disrespectful Kofi Adams was NDC’s biggest mistake – NPP activist

Nana Boakye, a communication member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says the National Democratic Congress'(NDC) big lose in the Central region was an expression of the natives disgust over Mahama allowing Kofi Adams to play a pivotal role in the NDC campaign.

“I’ve said on Kasapa FM before that Kofi Adams will return the NDC to opposition again. He’d been the biggest mistake for the NDC in this election, and the party should blame him for their defeat. I said before the elections that the people of the Central region won’t be happy with Adams being given such role to play in the party, because he’d all this years disrespected Late President John Atta Mills, with all kinds of attacks against then President Mills. So it was clear that locals in that region would vote against Mahama over Kofi Adams joining the NDC’s campaign.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, the NPP Communications officer, said Adams is politically weak and was not cut for the job which he was given by the NDC party.

According to him, for the NDC to even appear stronger as the main force in opposition, he said there must be what he calls an “instant revolution” to consolidate the party after their big defeat in the 2016 elections.

“We lost power though in 2008, but our defeat wasn’t shameful as that of the NDC in the 2016 elections. We were able to stretch the contest to second round and even in the first round Nana Addo was leading by hundred thousand.

“NDC should bury their head in shame. A party with a majority of seats in parliament to have lost about 43 seats is disgraceful. They need to be strategic to get back on their feet again.”
