District Assembly elections got to a slow start at Oda

Akyem Oda (E/R), Sept. 26, GNA - District Assembly elections got to a slow start at some polling stations at Akyem Oda with the absence of queues that normally characterised Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

At the Domantin polling station, 45 out of a total registered number of 356 people had voted as at 0800 hours, while Kyremin No. One "B" recorded 35 voters out of a total 341 registered voters as at 0804 hours.

At Kyremin No. Two "A" 35 out of 411 registered voters cast their votes as at 0819 hours, while 65 out of 627 registered voters at Kyremin No. Two "B" voted as at 0820 hours.

Ahenbronum polling station recorded 92 votes out of 580 registered voters as at 0900 hours with Srodai "A" recording 130 votes out of 758 registered voters as at 0902 hours.

Eighty-five people out of a total registered number of 610 voted at Srodai "B" at 0905 hours with Aseneye "A" recording 109 voters out of 573 registered voters at 0925 hours.

Aseneye "B" recorded 61 voters out of 288 registered voters as at 0925, while at Saint Anglican polling station 84 people out of 667 registered voters cast their ballots as at 0942 hours. Attafuah SSS polling station recorded 130 voters out of 940 registered voters as at 1000 hours with Presbyterian boys JSS "B" recoding 53 voters out of a total registered voters of 679. Presbyterian Boys JSS A recorded 58 voters out of 759 registered voters as at 1005 with Roman Camp "A" registering 150 voters out of a registered 625 voters as at 1010 hours.

At Roman Camp "B" 152 people had voted out of a total registered 689 voters as at 1020 hours.

At Urban Council "A" 95 out of a total registered number of 632 had voted as at 1045 hours with Urban Council "B" recording 160 voters out of 898 registered voters as at 1050 hours.

Fifty-four out of a total registered number of 898 people cast their ballots at Apostolic Polling Station as at 1059 hours.

At Awisa Community Centre polling station 175 out of 601 registered voters had cast heir votes as at 1300 hours, while 183 out of 395 registered voters cast their votes at T.B. Apaaso Electoral Area. At most of the polling stations visited, the presiding officers complained about voters not coming with their voters identity cards, which they said were making their work difficult. 26 Sept.06
