Divine intervention is answer to indiscipline

Kumasi, March 24, GNA- A cleric has stated that it is only divine intervention that could save the nation from the indiscipline that has engulfed it.

The Reverend Joseph K. Gyimah, founder of the True Light of Christ Church, who stated this, said since campaigns and other forms of exhortations had failed, the only solution left was divine intervention. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Kumasi on Tuesday, he therefore called on churches to shift their emphasis from crusades to prayers and fasting to redeem the country from its present indiscipline state to one of discipline.

Rev Gyimah said in spite of the fact that the crusade against indiscipline was launched by no less a person than the Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama; there was virtually no sign of change.

"The failure of the various interventions to change the country amply demonstrates that the problem needs divine intervention by way of intensive prayer and fasting".

Rev Gyimah also suggested the setting up of counselling units in the churches, which would focus mainly on counselling the youth about the dangers of indiscipline and the need to lead morally upright lives. He admonished the churches to let the growing indiscipline among the youth be of great source of worry and concern to them. He explained that since the majority of their members were the youth, they would become uncontrollable and possibly turn against them if they did not tackle the problem now.
