A new police station with residential accommodation for officers built at Dompoase in the Adansi North District, has been inaugurated with a reminder to every Ghanaian to reject anything unruly, irresponsible and likely to disturb the peace.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Commander, said they should accept to do what was right and lawful under all circumstances.
He warned that anything to the contrary would not be tolerated, adding that, the police would continue to be firm, professional and evenhanded in the performance of their duties.
The police station comes with offices for the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the station officer, a charge office, washrooms and separate cells for the male, female and juveniles.
Attached to it is a 10-bedroom property to house officers posted there.
The project was constructed by the Dompoase Traditional Council from its own resources.
DCOP Kofi Boakye applauded the increased support for the police by the people and said that was the way to go to enhance the security and development of the society.
Within the past 21 months, a total of 15 police stations had been established through community-initiative across the region - something that is tremendously aiding the crime fight.
He encouraged the people to be bold and flag up criminals to the police for their arrest and prosecution.
Okofo Sobin Kan II, the Dompoasehene, pledged to give every needed assistance to officers sent to the place to help them to perform.
