Don-Arthur picks form to contest Effutu NDC primaries

Mr Eric Don- Arthur, former TV 3 Morning Show Host on Monday picked up nomination forms to contest the Effutu Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primaries.

The former TV3 Host would contest with former MP for Effutu and former Transport Minister, Mr Mike Hammah, Mr Kweku Bortse Ghartey, Mr Ebo Appiah and Ambruce Entsiwa.

Mr Emmanuel Obo Baiden, Effutu Constituency Secretary told the Press that Mr Kweku Bortse Ghartey has also picked up his nomination forms since last Friday and the others are expected to pick up their forms before the close of nominations on 10th September, 2015.

He cautioned the executives of the Effutu constituency to desist from taking sides to avoid deep-cracks and divisions in the NDC before and after the primaries.

The Effutu Constituency Secretary urged the aspirants and their supporters to carry out their campaigns, devoid of insults, acrimonies and maligning of other aspirants, adding that, the Efutu NDC wanted a strong and united front after the primaries.

Mr Obo Baiden announced that the NDC in Effutu is poised to beat NPP by more than 4,000 votes in the 2016 elections.

Mr Don-Arthur said his main objective of contesting the primaries was to improve the livelihood of the chiefs and people of the Effutu Constituency.

He hinted that he declined to contest the NDC Parliamentary primaries in Effutu in 2008 and in 2012 due to immaturity, saying that, now he is more than prepared to lead the party to snatch the seat from the NPP in the 2016 elections.

According to the former TV3 Host, opportunities would be created for the individuals to improve their income level to reduce the hardships facing them.

Mr Don-Arthur assured the supporters that he would work hard to win the elections, adding that, we would make sure that this place becomes better to enhance quality living standards of the people.
