Apostle Dr Stephen K. Amoani, Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has urged Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be led astray by some leaders but should remain focused in their bid to attain higher laurels in life.
Apostle Dr Amoani noted that some leaders in their attempt to breakaway from a group, church or organization, peddled falsehood in order to gain sympathy from the people who in turn followed them during the breakaway.
According to him, God had a purpose for every one and therefore people should not follow leaders of secessions as the act could hinder them from reaching their goals and halt their blessings from God.
Apostle Dr Amoani was speaking at a special church service at CACI, Nima Assembly in Accra to climax a week long programme dubbed “Celebrating the Lord’s champions.”
The programme which was on the theme: “Removing the Reproaches,” afforded the church to honour six pastors, four deacons and 48 members who gallantly remained steadfast when the wind of succession blew through the assembly and nearly broke down the church in 2003.
The pastors honoured included Apostle Michael Nimo, former Chairman CACI, Apostle Dr E.O.K Donkor, General Secretary, CACI, Apostle J.K Mensah Abrampa Evangelism Director CACI, Prophet James Awuniselya Prophetic Director CACI, Rev. T.K. Ansah, former local Nima Pastor and now Area Pastor of Obuasi and Rev Osei Yaw Danquah who was in charge of the Church’s Youth Ministry.
Apostle Dr Amoani said it was prudent for people to be honoured for their achievements when they were alive rather than wait until they were dead.
He noted that people who stood for peace, justice, unity among other virtues were shunned by their families, friends and loved ones but pointed out that “with time people would come to terms with the reasons for standing for those virtues.”
He regretted that many people "can only remember people who die only when they take part in their memorial services".
Touching on the topic "Remembrance", Apostle Dr Amoani entreated the congregation to remain loyal to the church as it only took loyalty to remove reproach.
The Chairman of CACI said remembrance shaped the lives of people positively; bring about changes and discoveries in society.
These merits, he said, should be embraced by the youth in order to realize their potential when it came to creativity.
Apostle Dr Amoani urged the youth to strive to make an impact on the lives of others by emulating the example of Jesus Christ.
The Rev. Danquah who is also now in charge of the Nima Assembly, said in life, employers ought to show appreciation to their employees by saying, “Thank you” for their efforts.
“At some point in our lives we need to stop and appreciate the efforts of our colleagues and friends, whether as leaders or subordinates, it does not take too much to acknowledge their deeds,” he added.
Rev Danquah therefore called on African leaders to show appreciation and respect to people who dedicate themselves for a worthy course.
