The Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw Constituency who doubles as the Eastern Regional Minister Mr. Eric Kwarkye Darffour has expressed disquiet over the praise-singing on Mr. Bryan Acheampong.

The Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency also Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior Bryan Acheampong is known as one of the hardest-working politicians in the country so far as projects are concerned.

An article written by Nkawkaw based Journalist Ebenezer Kojo Nyavor (K-Lover) published on starrfm.com.gh and kasapafmonline.com in 2018 stated; ‘Honour workaholic Bryan Acheampong’.

The said article outlined some projects and other infrastructure development established by the politician since he resumed office as MP.

The article further stated ‘’In order to be able to fulfill his promises, he established Bryan Acheampong Foundation, a Non-Governmental organization on 5th June 2017 as a vehicle to drive all his Development initiatives in the Kwahu East District of Eastern Region.

The foundation has eight (8) different programs which include the following: Economic Empowerment, Health, Education, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure, Water and Sanitation, Sports, and Health.

Few months after the publication, UG Report also ranked him the Best MP in Eastern Region and third in the country. Most importantly in Kwahu, the Abetifi MP is well recognized as a politician who has his constituency at heart due to his numerous supports in the area.

The recent support to the COVID-19 fight is a donation worth GHS821,000 made to seven constituencies and health facilities in the Eastern Region.

It seems the Nkawkaw MP Mr Eric Kwarkye Darffour is not happy about the praise-singing on his colleague MP since he has not been receiving such commendations despite his effort to transform Nkawkaw constituency so far as developing the area is concerned.

Addressing journalists at his residence over the weekend to respond to rumors surrounding Nkawkaw Sports Stadium, the minister stated that

“To me I am glued to Nkawkaw and I will never be an obstacle so whoever will decide to vote ‘the skirt and blouse’, I don’t know how it will satisfy him/her. Do you know Eduardo? It is a mythological city, with roads constructed by gold. And that is what residents at Nkawkaw want but to me it is not possible because what is possible is what is rare and what goes on in government and I will not sidestep governance, no, it is not possible.

“They have been comparing other constituencies. Some say, Bryan… What is there? (Abetifi Constituency) tell me… you’re journalists tell me what is there… because whatever goes to that constituency it passes through my table. (as a regional minister)… and I know what is going on under my constituency is far exceeds what is happening in Abetifi,” he stated.
