Don't compromise on quality education for children- Otumfuo

Kumasi, Sept 20, GNA- The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has asked parents and teachers not to compromise on quality education for children.

He pointed out that when teachers and parents did that the nation would rather be the loser.

Schools, should therefore, team up with parents to adopt guidelines that would enable parents and teachers to meet regularly to address problems that impeded quality education for the their children. This was contained in a speech read on his behalf at the inauguration of the Royal County of Kumasi International School at Atasomanso New Site in the Kumasi Metropolis on Saturday.

The Asantehene said much as there was the need to increase intake in basic schools in the country to give many children access to education, it behoved on private schools to also strive for excellence.

He said in view of the role Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) education played in enhancing the socio-economic development of developing countries, schools should enforce policies that would make ICT education compulsory.
