The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South constituency, Samuel Atta Akyea, has criticised the opponents of the ruling NPP government and its free SHS policy.

In an interview with GhanaWeb's Etsey Atisu on August 18, 2024, Atta Akyea stated that the free SHS policy is an important initiative that will empower the nation in the years to come.

According to him, the NPP has never lacked creative ideas, therefore, urging Ghanaians to anticipate the new plans outlined in the 2024 manifesto.

“I want to tell you that the NPP has never been bereft of ideas. I keep saying and I want to emphasise that anything of consequence that will bankroll poverty has always come from the NPP so you are going to see another level of serious issues and the blueprint that it will depend on so that we come out of our current economic difficulties.

“That’s what I want to tell you. But its not you sitting on the sidelines criticizing the NPP when you don’t have any sense of free SHS. It came from the NPP and that is a paradigm shift in trying to empower the nation for the next 20 years,” he noted.

Samuel Atta Akyea, however, stressed that after the manifesto launch, Ghanaians will come to the realization that the country’s future is in good hands with Bawumia, not Mahama.

“So very similar and critical ideas will evolve about this manifesto. What is very important is that after the manifesto launch, we would all see that the future of this country is not with the recycled Mahama but with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” he disclosed.

The party’s manifesto launch is currently underway at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi, the Western Regional capital.
